Salary: USD 87,615 - 146,025 / annual
Turnitin is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to serve as a strategic technical partner to the sales team, driving revenue growth in the higher education and secondary education markets. This is a pre-sales role combining customer-facing technical expertise with internal cross-functional collaboration.
Day-to-day responsibilities include leading or assisting with customer meetings (product overviews, demos, workflow discussions, business cases), managing technical evaluations and proofs of concept, and supporting the sales team through RFP/RFI responses. You will serve as the customer-facing technical subject matter expert for Turnitin's Integrity and Assessment products, crafting tailored presentations and demonstrations that communicate complex technical concepts to executive, academic, and technical audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-impact product overviews and technical demonstrations to prospective and current customers
- Partner with sales teams to resolve technical inquiries and support RFP/RFI processes
- Build compelling business cases and value-focused presentations aligned to customer pain points
- Manage client trials, pilots, and proofs of concept with clear evaluation criteria
- Conduct technical discovery with customer stakeholders (CIOs, Administrators, Deans) to gather requirements and document workflows
- Synthesize market feedback, competitive insights, and feature requests to inform internal Product and Marketing teams
- Contribute to team collaboration, mentorship, and scaling the Solutions Engineering organization
- Flex schedule across global time zones to support global Go-To-Market teams

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Pre-Sales, or Technical Consulting in EdTech or Enterprise SaaS
- Strong consultative selling and presentation skills with proven ability to communicate technical concepts to executive, academic, and technical audiences
- High intellectual curiosity and ability to work through complex problems
- Proven track record managing technical evaluations, proofs of concept, and RFP responses in complex sales cycles
- Demonstrated expertise with customer workflows, including understanding complex integrations, gathering requirements, and managing change
- Experience with LMS, LTI standards, and REST APIs is a plus
- Ability to regularly flex schedule across global time zones
