JumpCloud is an AI-powered unified IT management platform that consolidates identity, device, and access management for modern organizations. The company helps enterprises secure their workforce by managing access for both human users and autonomous AI agents.
You will join as a Senior Software Engineer driving the architectural evolution and security posture of JumpCloud's core platform. This is a high-impact role combining backend systems design, enterprise security frameworks, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
**Architecture & Core Engineering:** Design and build scalable, highly available microservices using C#, .NET Core, Go, and TypeScript via gRPC and the ABP framework. You will own the technical direction of core platform components.
**Privileged Access Management (PAM):** Design and deploy enterprise-grade PAM/IDAM solutions (e.g., CyberArk, BeyondTrust, HashiCorp Vault), enforcing Zero Trust principles, Least Privilege access, and SCIM protocol integrations.
**Delivery & Test Engineering:** Own end-to-end continuous delivery using Origin CI, Kargo, and WoK. Implement comprehensive testing strategies including unit, functional, and Playwright E2E suites alongside Performance, Scalability, and Reliability (PSR) testing.
**AI Adoption & Technical Leadership:** Champion the BMAD framework to establish governance for AI-assisted workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot). Mentor engineers, conduct RFC reviews, and build shared team skill libraries.
**Multi-Platform Development:** Build cross-platform services and native desktop applications (macOS, Windows, Linux) supporting complex enterprise workflows.
**Observability & Operational Excellence:** Implement robust telemetry, logging, and tracing across microservices to monitor system health, reduce latency, and ensure strict SLA/SLO compliance.
**Technical Debt & Governance:** Partner with Product, Design, and Infrastructure teams to manage technical debt, refactor legacy components, and establish standardized engineering best practices.
**Incident Management:** Active participation in on-call shifts and incident response, contributing post-incident reviews and taking ownership of quick resolution.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with proven leadership as a Lead Architect or Senior Staff Engineer in a modern product environment
- Deep expertise in C#, .NET (ASP.NET Core / ABP Framework), Go, gRPC, and RESTful APIs
- Advanced proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (DocumentDB) architectures
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and custom CI/CD automation pipelines
- Proficiency with automated testing frameworks, specifically Playwright for E2E automation and load/stress testing tools
- Direct experience establishing spec-driven AI development workflows in production teams
- Fluent English (required for interviews and internal business communication)
- Must be located in and authorized to work in India
- Commitment to on-call shift participation
