As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform Services team, you will design and evolve core services to handle growth in customers, devices, and traffic while planning capacity ahead of demand. You will design, develop, and optimize critical infrastructure components ensuring security, scalability, and maintainability. Key responsibilities include improving system reliability through best practices in architecture and operations, driving innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance developer experience, and defining best practices in software engineering, CI/CD, and observability. You will analyze and optimize system performance for low latency and high throughput, participate in on-call rotations for mission-critical services, and respond to incidents as needed.
The role is hybrid (3 days in office per week) based in Miami. REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages (Go, Python, Java, or similar)
- Proficiency with AI-driven development methods (AI coding agents for planning, writing, testing, code review)
- Experience in B2B SaaS companies with multiple product lines
- Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture and microservices best practices
- Experience in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Ability to identify problems, break them into critical parts, and design scalable solutions
- Proven experience scaling production systems (traffic, data volume, or service growth)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies
- Familiarity with content delivery networks (CDNs) and caching strategies
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and/or gRPC
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS)
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Postgres or MySQL)
- Strong experience with peer code reviews and constructive feedback
PREFERRED:
- Experience with API gateways (Kong, AWS API Gateway)
- Familiarity with service meshes (Dapr, Linkerd, Istio)
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ)
- Hands-on experience with MQTT and IoT protocols
- Experience with observability tools (distributed tracing, logging, monitoring)
- Familiarity with security and compliance best practices in cloud environments
