Legion is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Labor Planning & Forecasting team. You will work on Legion, a high-performance, data-driven Java enterprise application that implements sophisticated scheduling and optimization algorithms. The role is hybrid based in Bangalore or Pune, India. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and evolving the backend systems that power Legion's workforce management platform. Your responsibilities include: - Develop high-quality features on schedule, with thorough understanding of the product area - Collaborate with the CTO/Architect on feature design and technical decisions - Own product quality end-to-end, including writing unit tests and working with QA engineers - Debug and resolve complex technical problems using deep technical knowledge - Design and build scalable, performant applications using best coding practices - Mentor team members and maintain high standards through design reviews and code reviews - Contribute to long-term team strategy and quarterly planning - Identify and resolve ambiguities in requirements with stakeholders - Demonstrate the Legion product end-to-end and ensure production readiness Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 7-8 years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot, 7-8 years building multi-tenant SaaS applications, 7-8 years designing and building APIs, and 5+ years delivering software in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure). You should have strong proficiency in Java or C++, knowledge of application architecture and design patterns, experience with distributed/scalable systems, and proven ability to lead projects from inception to production. Preferred qualifications include AWS expertise, experience with code quality management frameworks (Coverity, SonarQube), and frontend experience with JavaScript, Angular, or React. The tech stack includes Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL, JSON, and AWS infrastructure.
