QuickNode is a cloud-based blockchain infrastructure company backed by Tiger Global, Y Combinator, SoftBank, and Seven Seven Six Fund. The company operates globally with offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Lisbon, Portugal, and maintains institutional-grade infrastructure serving billions of requests daily across 80+ blockchain networks.
You will join the Blockchain Infrastructure Engineering team as a senior individual contributor designing, building, and optimizing distributed systems that ingest, process, and serve blockchain data at scale. This is a hands-on technical role with no direct reports, focused on high-throughput Go services and performance-critical Rust components.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build high-throughput, low-latency backend services, APIs, and data-processing systems in Go and Rust for production blockchain infrastructure
- Own production systems end-to-end: architecture, concurrency models, testing, observability, deployment, and operation
- Architect distributed systems handling blockchain data ingestion, processing, validation, and serving with strong consistency, fault tolerance, and availability guarantees
- Profile and benchmark production systems to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput, latency, resource efficiency, and resilience
- Assess security risks in blockchain and distributed-system components; design and review security controls
- Debug complex failures across services, databases, streaming systems, networks, and blockchain nodes
- Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Developer Experience teams to translate requirements into maintainable systems
- Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, document decisions, and establish engineering standards
As scope grows, you will take on larger system ownership and move toward Staff or Principal Engineer roles.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial backend or distributed systems work in high-scale production environments
- Advanced professional proficiency in both Go and Rust (both are core requirements, not interchangeable)
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, memory safety, databases, networking, operating systems, and production software architecture
- Proven track record delivering reliable, scalable systems with measurable improvements in performance, availability, correctness, or developer experience
- Experience with blockchain infrastructure, high-throughput APIs, node/RPC infrastructure, data-streaming pipelines, or similarly demanding distributed platforms
- Experience applying secure-design principles, threat modeling, and disciplined testing to systems where correctness and availability are critical
- Strong written and verbal communication, sound technical judgment, and ability to lead ambiguous cross-team projects independently
Preferred: Experience with Ethereum, Solana, or other major blockchain protocols; designing clean Go/Rust interfaces; cryptographic or security-sensitive systems; streaming/data infrastructure (Kafka, queues, distributed databases, observability); demonstrated technical leadership through architecture ownership or mentorship.
