The Exploration Company is building innovative aerospace technologies for space transportation, developing Nyx—a modular, reusable orbital vehicle designed for cargo and eventual human missions with in-orbit refueling capability.
As an AIT EVT & Thermal Engineer, you will lead the integration, environmental testing, and thermal qualification of the Nyx space vehicle. You will own the entire EVT (Environmental Test) campaign from facility management through test completion, serving as the primary interface between The Exploration Company and external test facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting and consolidating test requirements from subsystem owners (propulsion, thermal, thermal protection, avionics, power) and the chief engineering team
- Optimizing and scheduling the test flow based on identified needs
- Managing mechanical, thermal, and EMC/EMI test activities as the focal point with external facilities
- Defining and procuring Ground Support Equipment (GSE) with internal and external suppliers
- Writing and executing test procedures using tools such as Epsilon3, ODOO, and Team Center
- Leading assembly and mechanical setup procedures for integration and testing
- Executing procedures and coordinating with AIT engineers and technicians
- Resolving anomalies that arise during integration and testing
- Managing post-test reporting and documentation
- Identifying blockages, proposing improvements, and driving fixes
- Supporting procurement of test equipment (COTS and custom)
You will need strong system understanding, thermal and functional qualification expertise, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent test preparations while maintaining safety standards and quality control. Leadership skills, excellent organization, and the ability to communicate effectively across all business levels in English are essential. A hands-on, problem-solving approach with strong documentation discipline is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Engineering degree (Master's or PhD) in mechanical science or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Test) of aerospace vehicles
- Experience conducting test campaigns; prior EVT campaign experience is a plus
- Leadership skills and strong task prioritization
- Positive, flexible attitude with hands-on problem-solving mindset
- Fluent English communication at all organizational levels
