Salary: USD 196,750 - 243,290 / annual
Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Engineering Acceleration team, which provides tools and services to help engineers across the company build, test, and ship world-class software. In this role, you will design and build unified user-facing interfaces and AI-powered developer tools that serve Roblox's internal engineering organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with internal engineering teams to gather requirements and develop the service management platform that supports critical user journeys
- Create and improve front-end and back-end applications that manage thousands of change rollouts daily
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams on cross-functional architectural designs optimized for multiple years into the future
- Develop, mentor, and share best practices with engineering teams to improve automation and efficiency
- Work closely with managers to shape the team's vision and execute it
- Collaborate with a global team building technology for the metaverse
This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday at Roblox headquarters in San Mateo, CA.
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering work experience (posting also notes 8+ years preferred)
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, shipping, monitoring, and supporting tools and systems used by large engineering organizations (1000+ engineers at scale)
- Strong backend and frontend development experience with best practices
- Experience designing and building tools at scale
- Extensive infrastructure and distributed systems experience
- Experience with common cloud technologies
- Proficiency with Docker, containers, and CD platforms
- Full-stack capability with two or more languages (Go, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ReactJS, TypeScript, or similar)
- Knowledgeable in deploying common industry build/test/CI-CD technology
- Familiarity with HashiCorp and Kubernetes is a plus
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to work with internal stakeholders to solve complex problems
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
