Discord is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Consumer Revenue team, responsible for building premium experiences that drive monetization across the platform. You'll work on high-impact products including Nitro (premium subscription), the Discord Shop, server boosting, user identity systems, and related features serving millions of daily active users.
In this full-stack product engineering role, you'll own projects end-to-end, collaborating with Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing to create best-in-class consumer experiences. Your technical scope spans the entire stack: backend data modeling and business logic in APIs, frontend interfaces across web and mobile platforms, and performance optimization at scale.
Key responsibilities include building and improving premium Discord experiences, owning complex initiatives from conception through completion, partnering with Product on requirements and technical specifications, working with full-stack engineers to ship features across Web, Android, and iOS, and rapidly prototyping new features while synthesizing insights through experimentation.
You should have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading sizable projects that significantly impacted your team's roadmap. Full-stack proficiency is essential: expert-level React/React Native skills combined with solid Python backend development. The role requires strong product sense, ownership mentality, pragmatic problem-solving, performance-focused mindset, and a growth-oriented approach to challenges.
Bonus qualifications include experience on growth or revenue-focused teams, demonstrated success driving measurable impact through experimentation and data-driven decisions, track record of attracting users and optimizing engagement, experience with performance optimization at scale for consumer applications, and passion for the Discord platform.
