As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs, user interfaces, and backend services powering critical business applications. You'll work on secure, reliable, high-performing systems that support both transactional and analytical data platforms. The role emphasizes architectural thinking, ownership, and collaboration—you'll independently drive solutions from design through production. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and building scalable backend services and APIs - Developing modern front-end interfaces - Working with both transactional and analytical data platforms - Leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features - Ensuring system reliability, security, and performance at scale The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in modern development practices, scalable system design, and experience building production systems. You should be comfortable with architectural decisions and able to mentor junior engineers. Verana Health is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Knoxville, TN and New York City. Priority consideration is given to candidates in the Bay Area, NYC, and Knoxville. The position follows a hybrid model: 3 days per week in office, 2 days remote.
