Renaissance is a global leader in pre-K–12 education technology, used in over one-third of US schools and more than 100 countries. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Navigators team within Teacher & Learning Explorations, you will be a founding engineer working at the intersection where four mature products meet a shared discovery layer.
Your core responsibilities include:
**Design and own contracts** between the Libraries and four products—defining OpenAPI interfaces, typed message schemas, and versioning discipline to prevent breaking changes and outages.
**Build the discovery layer**—implementing search, relevance ranking, and retrieval systems across a large, heterogeneous content library to create a unified experience.
**Create and maintain continuous delivery pipelines** for code, infrastructure, configuration, and data, ensuring reliable deployments.
**Make the experience intuitive** for admins to govern and curate, teachers to find and instruct, and students to explore and grow within their respective libraries.
You will work on composing capabilities across products, designing the contracts between them, and ensuring search and curation function as one cohesive experience rather than four separate systems. This is a technical leadership role focused on systems design, API architecture, and backend infrastructure that directly impacts how educators and students interact with learning content at scale.
