Salary: CAD 110,000 - 120,000 / annual
Diligent is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) SaaS platform. You'll design and implement secure, scalable, high-performing serverless microservices using TypeScript on AWS, working in a team that owns services end-to-end from architecture through monitoring and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build event-driven, observable AWS serverless solutions using infrastructure-as-code (CDK, Terraform)
- Optimize development and delivery workflows to maximize team productivity with continuous deployment to production
- Collaborate in an agile environment through pair programming, planning, and iterative execution
- Leverage AI tools responsibly to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and code reviews
- Contribute to architectural discussions and help scale modern development practices
Required experience:
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering in agile, fast-paced environments
- Hands-on AWS experience with serverless technologies and infrastructure-as-code
- Backend proficiency: RESTful APIs with Node.js/TypeScript, Git version control, SQL databases (PostgreSQL)
- Frontend familiarity with React or Angular
- CI/CD pipeline experience or strong interest
- Understanding of AI concepts (tokens, context length, embeddings, hallucinations) and responsible AI use
- Strong communication and ability to discuss architectural decisions
