Pearl is an AI-driven healthtech company transforming dentistry with FDA-cleared computer vision and AI solutions for dental imagery interpretation. The company serves clinicians, practice owners, labs, and insurers globally, helping them improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in dental care. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll own meaningful components across three critical product areas: Real-Time Clinical AI Workflows (capturing clinical audio, streaming transcription, and generating structured documentation via LLMs), Agentic Systems (event processing, LLM tool-calling, and automation across internal/external tools), and Dental Data Intelligence (ingesting, normalizing, and enriching data from practice management systems). You'll build and maintain real-time transcription and LLM-powered summarization pipelines, contribute to agentic systems with tool-calling workflows and safety guardrails, and develop across the full stack: Node.js/TypeScript APIs, React frontends, PostgreSQL databases, and AWS infrastructure. You'll work with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS), write reliable and testable code with focus on maintainability and observability, collaborate on prompt engineering and AI output evaluation, and help monitor and improve system performance. The role emphasizes using AI development tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) to enhance productivity and partnering with senior engineers on system design. Required: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, strong ownership mindset, ability to navigate ambiguity, backend services experience with Node.js/TypeScript, React and modern frontend development, AWS familiarity (Lambda, SQS, S3), PostgreSQL and data modeling fundamentals, exposure to event-driven systems, familiarity with LLM-based systems (prompting, structured outputs, tool usage), testing and production systems experience, and comfort with AI-assisted development tools. Nice-to-have: healthcare or dental technology background, agent frameworks or LLM orchestration patterns, ETL pipelines or data integration experience, multi-tenant SaaS experience, and Infrastructure as Code (Serverless Framework). Pearl offers competitive compensation, ongoing training and development, flexible uncapped PTO, and a fully remote work environment.
