Join Graphcore's Drivers QA team as a Staff System Software Engineer in Test, based in Cambridge. You will own the quality gate for the drivers powering Graphcore's next-generation AI systems, designing, building and running comprehensive tests for complex Linux device drivers, user space libraries and platform tools.
Your core responsibilities include shaping test strategy across the stack, building and maintaining test infrastructure, ensuring production readiness of driver releases, and raising engineering standards across the organization. You will work on component testing, system testing, user acceptance testing and cross-stack validation, collaborating closely with development, hardware, firmware, ML stack, Kubernetes and cloud management teams.
This is a hands-on technical role with significant scope: you will guide test infrastructure and best practices while maintaining deep involvement in systems work. You'll debug complex cross-layer issues spanning hardware, firmware, drivers and higher-level software, and influence technical decisions across multiple teams through clear communication and technical evidence.
Required experience includes deep validation of Linux kernels and/or device drivers, strong test development in C++ and Python, CI/CD and modern automated testing practices, ability to debug complex multi-layer issues, and confidence shaping test strategy and coverage for production systems.
