As a Senior Software Engineer on the Engineering team, you will tackle complex technical problems that directly impact healthcare delivery at scale. The team analyzes billions of medical records to rank healthcare providers across the country using AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure. You will lead technical strategy and decision-making on assigned domains, using AI tools like Claude Code to build, optimize, and maintain software systems that handle doubling system loads annually.
Key responsibilities include: leading technical strategy on assigned domains; building and optimizing systems using AI coding agents; mentoring and upleveling early-career engineers; collaborating across disciplines to understand the healthcare domain; and implementing privacy and security best practices including HIPAA compliance.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of software engineering experience with a generalist mindset ready to learn new languages and frameworks in a fast-paced startup environment. You should demonstrate ability to build complex systems using AI coding agents, learn quickly, mentor others, and have familiarity with data security and HIPAA compliance. The role requires working in the NYC Financial District office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
