Fintual is a fintech platform making investing simple, transparent, and accessible to everyone. The company pioneered the first Hispanic American startup to launch its own investment funds and was the first AGF in Chile to connect to the Automated Clearing House for bank transfers. Fintual uses technology and process automation to offer low-commission, no-minimum, 100% online investing.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our development team. You will work on core platform features using technologies including Ruby on Rails, React/React Native, Django, Go, and Python. The role involves solving complex, ambiguous problems in a fintech context where your technical decisions directly impact how millions manage their investments.
You will collaborate with a high-density talent team, contribute across the full stack when needed, and help maintain the technical excellence that powers our platform. The position offers flexibility: you can work remotely (coordinating with Chile or Mexico time zones +/- 1 hour) or come to the office 2 days per week if you live within 1 hour of our location.
The hiring process includes: (1) a take-home coding task (~1 hour) focused on portfolio management logic, submitted via GitHub; (2) a 30-minute screening with the dev and people teams; (3) a 60-minute live coding interview; (4) a 30-minute conversation with the squad manager; (5) reference checks with the option to speak with 3 Fintual team members of your choice.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of formal programming experience (Fullstack, Frontend, or Backend)
- Proficiency or willingness to learn: Ruby on Rails, React/React Native, Django, Go, Python
- Strong algorithmic reasoning and ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems
- Ability to learn new technologies and work outside your core domain
- Excellent communication: concise, transparent, honest, and direct
- English proficiency (reading, writing, and coding; does not need to be perfect)
