As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead and drive critical projects within Checkout's payments technology platform. You'll work with cross-functional teams including product management and collaborate across a large engineering community to define and design loosely coupled, scalable microservices systems using industry best practices.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software solutions that help merchants boost acceptance rates, reduce processing costs, and fight fraud. You'll write clean, maintainable, and testable code on some of Checkout's most impactful systems, build and operate systems to the highest levels of resilience and service, and mentor junior team members in their technical development.
The role requires proficiency in .NET/C#, Java, or Go with strong software development principles in backend or full-stack environments. You'll work in agile environments, deliver high-quality code within tight deadlines, and stay current with the latest technologies. Payments or financial knowledge is a plus but not required.
