Airbnb's Channel Communications team is expanding its India presence and seeking a Senior Social Media Associate to join the Social Rapid Response team. This role combines core social rapid response coverage with dedicated support for Airbnb's India social presence, working closely with the India social lead on listening, insights, publishing, and campaign engagement. You will be responsible for protecting and defending the Airbnb story on social media, monitoring emergent issues across channels, and proactively highlighting or providing status updates on issues surfacing online. Key responsibilities include owning day-to-day social listening for the India market (including competitive and cultural conversation tracking), synthesizing listening data into insights for comms, marketing, and regional stakeholders, and providing publishing support for @airbnbindia including scheduling, copy QA, and channel hygiene. You will support community engagement on campaign moments, manage sensitive and high-risk reactive and proactive communications, work cross-functionally with Community Support, Trust operations, Policy, Regulatory, Corporate, and Crisis Management teams, and assist with developing playbooks and best practices. Additional responsibilities include measuring campaign effectiveness, supporting local APAC teams with reputational flagging, managing brand collaborations, and supporting the onboarding and upskilling of new teammates. This is a fast-paced role requiring someone who is detail-oriented, solution-focused, comfortable working with minimal manager supervision, and able to move quickly. You will serve as a key point of contact for publishing, engaging, and managing posts across brand social channels during APAC hours. The role requires flexibility to work Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday, 9 hours per day (including 1-hour break), between 7am–8pm local time, with weekend and public holiday availability. **Requirements:** - Minimum 4–9 years of experience working on social media projects in fast-paced environments - Multi-channel issues and crisis management experience - Working knowledge of the India social landscape and cultural conversation - Hands-on experience publishing and engaging on Instagram, including Reels and Stories - Experience translating social listening data into written insights for non-social stakeholders - Experience working on cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills - Strong social investigation skills - Skilled in operational excellence and continuous improvement - Experience with Sprinklr or other social media monitoring tools (required); internal CRM tools (plus) - English proficiency required; Hindi and/or other Indian languages strongly preferred - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - Passion for Airbnb and its mission - Ability to work weekend days, public holidays, and evening shifts as needed
