GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Social & Community Manager to own publishing and community management across consumer social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads). This is a hands-on, strategic role combining content creation, community engagement, and growth optimization. Key responsibilities include: creating and publishing content daily across platforms; identifying trends and cultural moments for timely engagement; serving as the team lead during crisis situations (natural disasters, major events); running a high-volume content program surfacing relevant fundraisers; setting growth targets and building testing roadmaps; managing the social editorial calendar; exercising editorial judgment on sensitive content involving tragedy and loss; collaborating with video producers on short-form video; mining comments and DMs for stories and customer issues; leveraging AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) for drafting and workflow efficiency; owning weekly/monthly reporting and translating performance into actionable recommendations; and partnering cross-functionally with Communications, Brand, Product, and Customer Support teams. The ideal candidate brings 5-7 years of hands-on social channel management for medium-to-large consumer brands, media organizations, or nonprofits. You combine strategic thinking (funnels, benchmarks, experiments) with maker's execution. You're highly online, aware of trends and cultural conversations, and thrive in fast-paced environments. You have native fluency with short-form video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts) and actively use AI tools in your workflow. You demonstrate exceptional judgment navigating sensitive subject matter, potentially with newsroom experience. You write sharp, platform-native copy and are comfortable with social management tools (Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite). You operate with self-direction and proactive communication on remote teams. Preferred qualifications include creator partnership/influencer program experience, community management background, nonprofit experience, or work at mission-driven companies or newsrooms.
