Planet designs, builds, and operates the world's largest constellation of imaging satellites, delivering empirical Earth observation data to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. The Senior Satellite Constellation Manager will lead strategic initiatives for Planet's growing constellation business in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, overseeing programs valued over $100M to build, launch, and operate Pelican satellites for Planet and regional customers.
As the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for overall program success, you will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, product, finance, and commercial functions to ensure delivered capabilities meet customer requirements and deliver excellent imagery products. You will serve as the primary bridge for contract execution in the region, integrating regional cultural nuances and customer needs into Planet's execution strategy while maintaining alignment with Pelican's commercial, technical, and product roadmap.
Key responsibilities include: acting as DRI for program-level requirements and customer satisfaction; assessing and balancing execution risk across engineering, launch, and operations; representing programs internally to senior leadership; executing contracts through an integrated core team; and serving as Planet's ambassador for the constellation business line to partners, customers, and media.
You will work remotely with proximity to Planet's UAE team and MENA customers, collaborating frequently with stakeholders in California and Germany offices via virtual meetings and occasional in-person travel. This role requires deep expertise in LEO satellite operations, satellite design, and mission success delivery, combined with strong cross-functional leadership and servant leadership principles aligned with agile methodologies.
The role demands 10+ years of experience in space systems development, management, and/or operations, with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Fluency in Arabic and professional English proficiency are required, as is deep expertise in LEO satellite operations and satellite design.
