Skild AI is building general-purpose robotic intelligence that adapts to unseen scenarios. We're seeking a Senior Robot Animator to bring our robots to life by creating motion that runs in both simulation and on physical hardware. You'll work at the intersection of computer graphics and robotics, authoring robot motion using keyframe, procedural, and motion-capture techniques in Maya or Blender. Your responsibilities include rigging and animating articulated mechanical characters, choreographing multi-robot sequences, and translating digital motion to real hardware. You'll build motion libraries that support our simulation and machine learning pipelines, collaborate with robotics engineers on motion capture cleanup and retargeting, and partner with hardware teams on previz studies and range-of-motion analysis that inform mechanical design. This is an animation-craft role that requires deep understanding of both digital animation principles and the physical constraints of real robots. You'll deliver both rendered content and sequences performed by the machines themselves, ensuring that what you create in the DCC tool can actually execute on hardware. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional animation experience in film, VFX, games, or robotics, with expert-level keyframe animation skills, strong rigging experience with mechanical or articulated characters, and comfort with motion capture editing and retargeting. Background with humanoid or robotic characters, familiarity with rigid-body dynamics, and understanding of controls and simulation are valuable. A demo reel is required.
