Salary: USD 90,000 - 120,000 / annual
Datadog is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join its Finance team and support revenue accounting operations in a fast-growing SaaS environment. The role involves partnering across Finance, Customer Success, Sales Operations, and other teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, billing, and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include executing month-end close activities such as preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; analyzing complex customer billing arrangements and preparing revenue recognition analyses under ASC 606; managing invoicing activities and calculating key revenue metrics; collaborating with Customer Success, Deal Desk, Sales Systems, and Order Operations to improve order-to-cash processes; supporting internal and external audit activities including revenue walkthroughs and audit documentation; and contributing to process improvement initiatives that support business growth.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably at a public company or Big Four firm. Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles and ASC 606 guidance is essential. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational ability, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with SaaS business models is preferred, as are CPA certification (or progress toward it) and familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, Tableau, or Microsoft Access.
