Isomorphic Labs is seeking a Senior Research Investigator specializing in biologics pharmacology to drive drug discovery innovation using frontier AI. The company applies machine learning and AI to accelerate scientific discovery, with a focus on designing novel protein-based therapeutics and advancing candidates toward clinical development.
In this role, you will be a key member of the Biologics Design and Research team, working across early discovery through candidate selection. You will design and execute comprehensive pharmacology strategies for large molecule therapeutics, leading in vivo efficacy studies and complex in vitro functional assays to generate high-quality data. As the Biology Lead for assigned projects, you will coordinate internal workflows and external CRO partnerships to drive candidates toward critical go/no-go decisions and program milestones.
You will collaborate with computational biology and design teams to identify and evaluate new biologics projects, assessing biological feasibility and therapeutic potential. A core part of your impact will be partnering with interdisciplinary teams (ML, Biology, CompBio) to build the company's generative AI platform, ensuring pharmacology data feeds back into design loops and deploying cutting-edge tools to discover novel therapeutic strategies.
The role requires deep scientific expertise in disease models and biologics drug development, with a strong interest in applying technological advances to predict translation to patients. You will manage external collaborations with CROs and academic groups, demonstrate creative problem-solving on complex drug discovery challenges, and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
The company operates on a hybrid model requiring 3 days per week in the London office (currently Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day depending on team assignment).
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
- PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in biotech or pharma industry roles
- Strong scientific expertise and in-depth understanding of disease models and their use in biologics drug development
- Significant experience designing and executing studies to support project progression in biologics drug discovery and development
- Experience within immunology, inflammation, or oncology therapeutic areas
- Proficiency with modalities such as multi-specifics or antibody drug conjugates (ADCs)
- Demonstrated ability to foster and manage external collaborations with CROs and academic groups
- Genuine passion for applying AI/ML to drug design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Track record of creative problem-solving in drug discovery with strong growth mindset and adaptability
Nice to have:
- Experience leveraging machine learning or computational biology techniques for biologics design and optimization
- Experience in antibody discovery, engineering, and optimization strategies
- In-depth understanding of protein structure-function relationships of antibodies
