Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Product Sourcing Engineer to serve as the critical bridge between engineering design and supply chain execution. This role is central to ensuring hardware is manufacturable, cost-effective, and scalable from inception.
Key Responsibilities:
- Embed with Design Engineering during concept and prototype phases to conduct technical reviews, drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) initiatives, and align design intent with supplier capabilities at production rate.
- Evaluate and qualify global suppliers based on technical capability, process maturity, quality systems, and capacity to deliver complex assemblies on aggressive schedules.
- Lead should-cost analyses, teardowns, and process assessments to identify cost drivers and execute design-to-cost initiatives without compromising performance, reliability, or margin.
- Manage the technical transition from new product introduction (NPI) into serial production, including first-article inspections, PPAP, yield ramp, and resolution of early-stage manufacturing issues at supplier facilities.
- Identify technical single points of failure, qualify alternate processes or sources, and drive engineering change orders (ECOs) and corrective actions to resolve supplier-facing build issues before they impact the program.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in hybrid engineering/sourcing/supply chain roles delivering hardware into production.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to assigned commodities, including cost drivers; ability to assess supplier floor realities and identify scalability risks.
- Fluency in engineering drawings, schematics, CAD models, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T); ability to reconcile design tolerances with supplier process capability.
- Proven track record collaborating with suppliers to troubleshoot fabrication issues, improve yield, and drive rigorous root-cause corrective action (8D/CAPA methodologies).
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
