Oura is seeking a Senior Product Quality Manager to join its Supply Chain team in San Francisco. This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing, R&D, and supply chain operations, partnering with design, process engineering, operations, and contract manufacturers to drive successful New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and ensure every Oura Ring meets rigorous standards for health accuracy, reliability, and craftsmanship.
You will champion product quality and user experience by establishing and improving quality systems at contract manufacturers, ensuring robust data collection and analysis to support critical program decisions and long-term supply chain improvements. From concept through high-volume production, you will develop and implement measurement methods, control plans, and quality processes that ensure components and assemblies are manufacturable, scalable, and consistently meet product requirements.
Key responsibilities include supporting NPI through FATP development builds, ramp-up, and mass production; serving as a bridge between Design, Engineering, and Operations to translate technical risks into actionable business decisions; analyzing build failure data to identify design and process marginalities; leading build readiness reviews focused on quality deliverables such as equipment readiness and process qualification; establishing premium quality standards by defining cosmetic specifications and aligning teams on subjective criteria like fit, finish, and feel; identifying and communicating design and process risks using data-driven approaches; analyzing data to establish appropriate spec limits and process controls; and validating that CM processes produce units meeting cosmetic, reliability, and functional design intent.
You will work closely with Operations and Program Management to plan and execute NPI builds while continuously influencing product and process development. This role requires significant travel to Finland and Asia, with an in-office requirement of three days per week in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Required qualifications include 7+ years in Product Quality, Supplier Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, or Process Engineering roles, ideally with strong mechanical process development and design understanding. You should have experience in System Integration environments (FATP), high-volume handheld/wearable and consumer products manufacturing with high cosmetic standards, and qualifying/auditing manufacturing processes including PSA/HAF attach, epoxy dispense/molding/curing, and solder/hotbar/laser weld. Experience developing robust IQC/IPQC/OQC controls, understanding of quality principles (GRR, CRR, SPC, FA/CA, FMEA, DOEs), and manufacturing/design principles (DFM, GD&T, Six Sigma) are essential. A self-driven mindset and ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment are critical.
