Vertical Insure is the leading embedded insurance platform built for vertical SaaS companies. The platform offers customized insurance options tailored to each business and its customers, adding value and generating new revenue without extra overhead by embedding insurance into partners' existing product flows.
The Senior Product Marketing Manager owns the market, competitive, and enablement work that makes every vertical, channel, and product sellable. This role sits on the Product team, reports to the Chief Product Officer, and works across Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and the Insurance team.
Key responsibilities include:
**Market and Competitive Intelligence:** Own competitive reviews by vertical covering both embedded providers and traditional alternatives. Build insurance product comparisons at the coverage, structure, and economics level that hold up to scrutiny from buyers' risk and finance teams. Run win/loss reviews and feed learnings back into the product roadmap.
**Positioning and Messaging:** Develop buyer and partner personas for each vertical and channel. Build and maintain a messaging house per vertical with value propositions tied to actual product capability and variations for platform partner, client, and end-customer audiences. Provide Marketing with documented messaging and value propositions at sufficient depth to support long-form and technical content.
**Sales Enablement and Training:** Write sales playbooks, narratives, and talk tracks by vertical and channel. Build objection handling and FAQ material covering questions that arise in every deal. Produce feature and product value briefs, sales presentations, and associated training.
**Partner and Channel Enablement:** Produce source material for partner marketing teams to build external-facing assets including product detail, positioning, value narratives, and competitive context. Write value realization narratives for partner and client marketing programs. Support channel-specific launches as new ways to reach buyers are added.
**Launch Management:** Own launch plans for new products, channels, and verticals. Run the launch calendar across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer teams. Document what worked and apply learnings to subsequent launches.
This is the first dedicated product marketing role at Vertical Insure, and you will build the function's structure as you go. The Minneapolis office operates on a hybrid model with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Local candidates only at this time.
**Requirements:**
- 7+ years in B2B product marketing, with time at both specialist and senior individual contributor levels
- Deep sales enablement experience: playbooks, talk tracks, objection handling, battle cards, and training execution
- Demonstrated competitive intelligence work including primary research, win/loss analysis, and comparison material used by sales and channel partners
- Track record building positioning and messaging by persona and by industry, not one message for all buyers
- Experience translating complex or technical products into language buyers and internal teams understand
- Comfortable working directly with product managers and engineers through a product lifecycle process rather than receiving finished features
- Strong writer; most output is written and must be accurate before polished
- Self-directed and able to build function structure independently
**Nice-to-Have Experience:**
- Vertical SaaS, insurtech, embedded insurance, embedded finance, or fintech background
- Channel or partner-led go-to-market experience where third parties sell or explain your product to their customers
- Pragmatic Institute training, Product Marketing Alliance certification, or equivalent formal product marketing grounding
- Hands-on experience with sales enablement platforms (Seismic, Highspot, or similar) including administration
- Experience supporting industry-specific or vertical-specific go-to-market programs
