Super.com is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the payments function across two distinct business models: a travel business handling high-value one-time transactions with authorization holds and delayed capture, and a subscription business managing recurring billing with retry logic and credential lifecycle management.
This is an individual contributor role leading the payments mission-aligned team (MAT) through influence and credibility rather than formal reporting authority. You will report to the Director of Product and work closely with the Head of Payments, who sets overall strategy. You will partner with fraud prevention and disputes functions on cross-cutting decisions around routing, authorization rates, and 3DS.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to and owning prioritization of the payments roadmap within your area
- Writing PRDs and business requirements covering failure paths, reconciliation, and scope boundaries
- Running the payments MAT's day-to-day planning, rituals, and backlog prioritization
- Driving delivery by sequencing work, removing blockers, and managing scope
- Running routing and retry experiments to improve authorization performance
- Supporting international market expansion by researching local payment method coverage and writing requirements for new launches
- Analyzing authorization rates, decline patterns, cost per transaction, and settlement performance to recommend improvements
- Contributing to monthly payments reporting for Finance
- Tracking industry and regulatory changes (SCA, network rules, APM adoption) and flagging roadmap impact
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, data, and commercial leaders to deliver best-in-class payments experiences while increasing profitable transaction likelihood.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, including 1+ year on payments, fintech, checkout, or billing products
- Working knowledge of modern payments stack: gateways, processors, acquirers, tokenization, alternative payment methods
- Understanding of one-time payment mechanics (authorization holds, delayed capture, settlement) OR recurring billing mechanics (dunning, retries, credential-on-file), with curiosity to learn the other
- Track record of shipping features end-to-end with engineering from requirements through launch
- Strong product craft: clear requirement writing, ability to explain prioritization reasoning, disciplined scope management
- Technical and data fluency to work closely with engineers, understand technical tradeoffs, and analyze performance data
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and keep work moving without formal authority; knowing when to escalate
- Strong written and verbal communication with engineers and stakeholders
- Resourceful and self-directed in fast-moving environments
BONUS:
- Experience with payments launches in new markets (APAC, EEA, LATAM)
- Background in high-volume consumer businesses with marketplace, travel, or e-commerce payment flows
- Exposure to disputes and chargeback data
