Xendit is a Southeast Asian payment infrastructure platform processing millions of transactions monthly for SMEs and enterprises. This role owns the end-to-end merchant account lifecycle—from sign-up through onboarding, activation, and early engagement—the highest-leverage surface in the merchant relationship.
You will balance two competing imperatives: delivering a fast, frictionless onboarding experience while maintaining the KYC/AML and compliance controls that keep Xendit licensed and secure. This is not a role that leans heavily toward either side; success means reconciling both.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the vision, roadmap, and metrics (onboarding success rate, activation rate, throughput) for the merchant account lifecycle
- Embedding KYC/AML controls at the lowest workable friction in partnership with Risk, Fraud, and Compliance teams
- Translating funnel analytics, support signals, and user research into prioritized experiments and product requirements
- Driving cross-functional alignment across Payments, Core Platform, Design, Engineering, Customer Success, Risk, and Compliance
- Proactively turning regulatory and policy changes into product requirements before they become crises
You report to the Product Design & UX Director for Customer Lifecycle and partner closely with Engineering, Risk, Fraud, and Compliance—more closely than typical PM roles. Your time splits between discovery (research, analytics, validation) and delivery (roadmap execution, cross-team navigation). The domain values evidence-based decisions, direct critique, and Legal & Compliance alignment before changes ship.
The role requires two equally weighted capabilities: (1) proven activation impact—you have personally moved an onboarding or early-lifecycle metric with measurable results in time-to-value, drop-off reduction, or support efficiency; and (2) regulated-domain fluency—you have shipped product in fintech, payments, banking, insurance, healthcare, or similar regulated environments and understand how design decisions carry compliance consequences. Most strong candidates have 5+ years in-domain experience. A plus: direct KYC/AML or fraud/risk trade-off experience and enough technical fluency (architecture, APIs, data flows) for productive engineering conversations.
