Quince is a Series D direct-to-consumer fashion and accessories company founded in 2018, disrupting retail by offering high-quality essentials at low prices through sustainable, fair manufacturing. You will own the fulfillment and warehouse management system (WMS) product, spanning both third-party logistics (3PL) integrations and an in-house WMS platform. This role sits at the critical intersection of software, operations, and physical logistics, directly impacting customer delivery experience, fulfillment costs, and Quince's ability to scale.
Key responsibilities include:
• Build middleware and tools connecting external 3PL warehouses to Quince systems, standardizing inbound/outbound events, inventory signals, SLA monitoring, capacity planning, and appointment booking to enable reliable demand allocation.
• Design and develop a pragmatic in-house WMS for first-party warehouses supporting full inbound and outbound operations, including pick/pack/ship, inventory accuracy via cycle counts, exception handling, and mobile UX for operational teams.
• Model warehouse flows (inbound → storage → replenishment → outbound) and physical constraints (labor, space, equipment, cutoffs, carrier pickups), translating them into product primitives and clear technical requirements.
• Define the target architecture and roadmap for a warehouse integration layer, including APIs/EDI specifications, event models, data contracts, observability, and a unified connector approach across multiple partner sites.
• Build a capacity and booking platform with warehouse calendars, appointment scheduling for inbound/outbound, dock/slot constraints, labor and throughput limits, prioritization rules, and allocation logic tied to demand planning.
• Work cross-functionally with operations teams on the ground, engineering, and supply chain to ensure the product solves real-world problems and scales reliably.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring deep understanding of logistics, warehouse operations, and software product development. You will directly influence how inventory moves through Quince's network and how customers experience delivery.
