Datadog is building the observability and security platform for the AI era. The Feature Flagging & Experimentation product is expanding to integrate flag decisions directly with observability signals and to modernize flagging workflows for an SDLC increasingly run by AI agents. As Senior Product Manager for Feature Flagging, you will own product strategy and drive execution across flags-plus-observability integration and agentic-era flagging workflows. You report directly to the Director of Product and will set direction for a critical area of the roadmap, working closely with observability, RUM, and APM teams. You'll make independent product judgment calls with limited oversight, bring engineering credibility to every decision, and drive B2B go-to-market strategy alongside sales. Key responsibilities: - Identify integration points between flag decisions and observability signals (rollout gating, anomaly-triggered rollback, experiment diagnostics) and ship a roadmap that unlocks observability and experimentation differentiators in Datadog Feature Flags. - Work closely with observability, RUM, and APM teams to make flags a real signal across the platform. - Design flagging workflows for a world where AI agents write and merge code; identify where today's flag tooling slows agentic development and set the bar for what a modern, AI-native flagging platform looks like. - Ground product decisions in real knowledge of CI/CD, release cycles, and observability tooling; reason concretely about server vs. client compute tradeoffs and how flags behave differently in browser vs. native apps. - Work with engineers as a peer—read code, follow technical debates, and make calls when tradeoffs get messy. - Get into deal cycles directly and know what it takes to close enterprise flagging deals. - Own documentation and developer experience for this product; find and fix enablement gaps across a large sales organization. - Own this product area from vision through GTM execution; communicate progress and strategy to senior leadership and executives. The role is based in New York City and requires working from the office 3 days per week to support collaboration. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience working closely with engineering teams, ideally as an engineer yourself, with a track record of owning a product area end to end. - 2+ years writing code that shipped to production through a full release cycle; hands-on experience with CI/CD, flagging, and observability tools. - Real technical understanding of software architecture—why teams trade off server vs. client compute, and how browser and native apps differ. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and listen fast, write and speak clearly, and talk to engineers as a peer. - B2B experience: personally helped close deals, know what makes developer docs and devex good, and can diagnose and fix enablement problems across a large sales team. - AI-fluent: shipped code with agentic tools yourself and know firsthand where AI tooling creates friction in the SDLC. - Based in New York City and able to work from the office 3 days per week. - Bonus: prior experience with observability tooling, experimentation platforms, or distributed systems.
