Lightning AI is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the experimentation and post-training product end-to-end. The company, founded in 2019 and behind PyTorch Lightning, builds an end-to-end platform for developing, training, and deploying AI systems. Following a merger with Voltage Park, Lightning AI combines developer-first software with cost-efficient, large-scale compute infrastructure. In this role, you will define the product vision and roadmap for post-training and experimentation workflows. You'll focus on how AI researchers and engineers turn ideas into high-quality, validated models—covering experiment design, fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, model evaluation, failure analysis, and production checkpoint selection. You'll work at the intersection of developer tooling, AI infrastructure, and model quality. The ideal candidate understands modern AI team workflows: notebooks, training jobs, experiment trackers, checkpoints, evaluation suites, and custom tooling. You'll identify workflow breakdowns and design cohesive, minimal product experiences that bridge research and production. Key responsibilities include owning the product vision and roadmap, understanding how ML engineers and researchers actually work, developing strong product opinions, creating product artifacts, and driving work forward with high ownership. You'll move fluidly between designing intuitive developer workflows, discussing distributed training and artifact lineage with engineers, evaluating model outputs, and communicating product value to customers and sales. You will report to the VP of Product, work directly with the executive team, and collaborate closely with engineering and customers. This is a hybrid role based in New York City or San Francisco with an expectation of two days per week in-office. Lightning AI is backed by Coatue, Index Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, and Firstminute, with global offices in NYC, San Francisco, Seattle, and London.
