Datadog is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the zero-to-one development of a Data Agent product—a new major product line addressing a critical gap in how organizations use AI to query business data. Today, AI-powered data queries lack governance, consistency, and visibility for data teams. You'll build the system that fixes this: a context layer that learns from existing data tools, an AI-powered query experience with full governance, and rich analysis surfaces for presenting and sharing results. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery through launch, driving the vision and roadmap across the Data Agent experience, semantic/context layer, governance console, chat interface, and analysis surfaces (dashboards, notebooks, sheets). You'll work cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and other PMs to deeply understand two key personas: data teams (who govern and curate) and data consumers (PMs, engineers, SREs, executives asking questions). Key responsibilities include designing a trustworthy context and governance layer (auto-generation from BI tools, eval frameworks, confidence scoring, self-improvement loops), defining how observability and business data converge for unique use cases, engaging directly with early customers and internal users to iterate on accuracy and trust, researching the competitive landscape (legacy BI, warehouse-native analytics, AI-first startups), defining product pricing, and working with GTM teams on positioning and packaging to displace entrenched tools. You bring 5+ years of B2B SaaS product management experience, with domain knowledge of business intelligence, data visualization, semantic layers, data warehouses, and the modern data stack. You have strong analytical skills—you can write SQL, interpret complex data, and use data to drive decisions. Experience with AI/LLM-powered products is a strong plus; you understand prompt engineering, evals, and the UX challenges of non-deterministic systems. You're deeply engaged with AI tools (Claude, Cursor), have built unique AI workflows, and hack around with new tools. You have a strong sense of ownership, an entrepreneurial mindset comfortable with ambiguity and speed, and sharp communication skills for both technical stakeholders and executives. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent is preferred. Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace to support work-life harmony. The company values people from all walks of life and encourages applications even if you don't meet every qualification on day one.
