Salary: USD 134,000 - 182,000 / annual
Shippo is building the shipping layer of the internet, connecting merchants to carriers worldwide through a single API and intuitive dashboard. The Carrier Capabilities team is responsible for building and maintaining scalable, consistent carrier integrations and defining a clean abstraction layer that enables customer-facing API domain teams (Rating, Label, Address, Tracking, Reconciliation) to move faster and with higher reliability.
As Senior Product Manager for Carrier Capabilities, you will own product strategy, execution, and outcomes for Shippo's carrier integrations. This is a highly technical, high-impact role operating at the intersection of product, engineering, carrier partnerships, and operations.
Key responsibilities include:
**Product Strategy & Vision**: Own the product vision and strategy for Carrier Capabilities, aligned to Shippo's growth, reliability, and cost goals. Translate business goals (revenue growth, retention, carrier expansion) into a prioritized carrier capabilities roadmap.
**Carrier Capability & Platform Ownership**: Define standardized carrier capabilities (e.g., rating, labeling, tracking, billing, configuration) and how they are represented internally. Own product decisions for carrier API abstractions, configuration models, error standards, and quality requirements. Review and prioritize new carrier features and API changes, balancing customer value, carrier constraints, and platform health.
**Execution & Delivery**: Lead cross-functional delivery for new carrier integrations, major upgrades, and deprecations in partnership with engineering and technical program management. Support incident response and post-mortems to ensure carrier issues result in durable product improvements.
**Quality, Metrics & Insights**: Measure performance indicators for carrier integrations, including quality, reliability, upgrade cadence, and operational cost. Build visibility into carrier health, coverage gaps, and capability maturity to inform roadmap and investment decisions. Use data, customer feedback, and operational insights to continuously refine priorities.
**Cross-Functional Leadership**: Partner closely with Carrier Partnerships, Carrier Operations, Solutions Architecture, and GTM teams to ensure alignment from contract to production. Serve as the primary product counterpart for senior stakeholders on carrier-related initiatives.
Shippo is remote-first and globally distributed. Roles can be based anywhere in the US (with exceptions for Delaware, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Hawaii, New Mexico, and West Virginia) and many roles can be based internationally.
