The Credit Cards Originations team focuses on creating distinctive products and driving profitable growth. As Senior Product Manager for Originations, you will own the product and its performance across the entire customer journey—from first interaction through application, decisioning, and onboarding. You will drive profitable new-account growth, conversion optimization, and customer experience while partnering closely with Credit (who own credit strategy, customer selection, and pricing), Fraud, Engineering, Design, Analytics, and Operations teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting direction and roadmap for Credit Cards Originations from customer first interaction through application and onboarding
- Using customer, commercial, and risk signals to identify the biggest product opportunities to improve profitable new-account growth
- Partnering with Credit and Fraud to build and evolve capabilities around eligibility, affordability, decisioning, pricing, and fraud prevention—translating credit strategy into scalable product capabilities and customer experiences
- Leading product direction for a squad of engineers and collaborating with shared decisioning, design, analytics, and operations colleagues
- Improving conversion by simplifying journeys, reducing avoidable referrals, and testing web and in-app changes
- Shaping partnerships and data opportunities, including open-banking and third-party propositions
- Making pragmatic trade-offs across customer outcomes, conversion, economics, risk, quality, and delivery speed
- Developing the team's ways of working, including practical use of AI and automation to improve productivity, speed, and quality
The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in the London office, with flexibility to work abroad up to 120 days per year (subject to work authorization).
Requirements:
- Proven track record of owning measurable commercial and customer outcomes across a complex digital product area
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear direction, prioritized roadmap, and well-defined measures of success
- Sound commercial judgment and ability to balance growth, conversion, unit economics, customer satisfaction, and risk
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, credit/risk, fraud, and operations in a regulated environment
- Comfortable working directly with data using SQL, scripting languages, and BI/analytical tools
- Experience developing or coaching product managers or analysts
- Experience with third-party data, open banking, or strategic partner propositions (preferred)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a complex, regulated environment
