Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform connecting people with Taskers for everyday tasks like furniture assembly, handyman work, and moving help. The company operates globally with a hybrid workforce across the US and EU.
As Senior Product Manager for Commerce, you will own Taskrabbit's global commerce platform, covering how clients pay for tasks and how Taskers receive earnings. You'll lead a team primarily composed of backend engineers and partner with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal teams to identify problems, prioritize initiatives, and deliver solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the global commerce platform across all markets, including client payment methods, booking experience, and Tasker payouts and earnings
- Improving payment user experience by launching new payment methods to increase booking conversion, reducing payout delays, and removing checkout friction
- Investigating payment issues end-to-end to identify root causes using data analysis and AI tools
- Planning and sequencing team initiatives with engineering leadership, balancing user-facing improvements, cost reduction, compliance, and platform health
- Ruthless prioritization of work, deciding what moves the needle and communicating what won't be done
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal
The role requires deep expertise in B2C payments products, including payment processor integration, payment methods (PayPal, BNPL, SEPA), and payout management. Global payments experience is a strong plus. You should understand how payment experience shapes user behavior and business outcomes, track metrics like authorization and decline rates, and know where to investigate when they move. You need systems-level understanding of how payments work (auth/capture flows, ledgers, reconciliation, processor and bank interactions) or eagerness to learn the backend setup in detail. Strong prioritization skills, stakeholder management, and execution capability are essential. While you don't need to write code or SQL, comfort using AI tools to query data and understand system behavior is important.
This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in-office collaboration at the San Francisco office (130 Sutter Street).
Requirements:
- Deep experience building B2C payments products with ability to lead independently from day one
- Strong product sense for payments, understanding how payment experience shapes user behavior and business outcomes
- User-champion mindset with ability to dig into root causes
- Systems-level understanding of payments infrastructure or eagerness to learn
- Proven prioritization and stakeholder management skills
- Strong execution and communication abilities
- Global payments experience is a strong plus
- Marketplace experience is not required
