Mitratech is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the customer problem of keeping multi-location workforces compliant with policies, notices, and training required by law. You will lead the Handbooks and Compliance Learning product area, with workflow scope covering Multi-State and Jurisdiction Management and Onboarding (excluding I-9 and E-Verify). The core problem: employers who expand across states struggle to maintain compliant handbooks, brokers cannot prove currency, and employees rarely acknowledge policies. The solution should be efficient, with insights delivered to the right system or person at the right time. You will own the complete customer journey across all channels: direct product, partner platforms, chat, and authorized agents. Your decisions will shape which customer journeys come first, what the shared handbook engine must do, how policy changes flow into acknowledgments and training assignments, and how outcomes are proven to employers and partners. Key ownership areas include: handbook intake, policy selection and assembly, multi-state and section-level editing, review and approval, versioning, and portability; mandated training assignment and tracking against jurisdictions; employer jurisdiction footprint as a shared input; new-hire state reporting and policy acknowledgment; post-approval distribution and acknowledgment tracking; and experiences within partner platforms and via API. Essential responsibilities: be the company expert on how multi-location employers, HR generalists, brokers, and PEOs actually keep policies current and where work breaks; maintain a living view of buyer, user, approver, and accountable owner across channels; run continuous weekly discovery with employers, practitioners, brokers, and experts; turn learning into testable assumptions; collaborate with design to validate solutions before engineering commitment; shape AI-native experiences with expert oversight; define where agents act, humans approve, or questions route to licensed experts; write clear PRDs and decision documents; define and instrument success metrics; protect current commitments while shaping next plans; and partner across engineering, design, data science, compliance content, HR advisory, customer success, and go-to-market. Success in year one means: dozens of interviews synthesized into a shared prioritization framework; measurably shorter handbook production cycles with understood revision causes; multi-state editing in customers' hands with visible acknowledgment and training evidence; validated policy-change handoff to distribution and payroll with clear ownership; and explicit success measures with a sequenced plan. The team is newly formed with clear direction and room to shape. Product leaders who succeed here practice precision about problems before solutions, exercise judgment rather than seeking permission, produce short decision-ready documents, give and receive direct feedback, and prefer early and messy over late and polished. Requirements: 5+ years of product management in B2B SaaS, with at least 3 years owning a product area end-to-end from problem definition through launch, adoption, and iteration. Demonstrated continuous customer discovery practice (weekly conversations, interview notes backing roadmap decisions, tested assumptions). Experience serving two or more distinct audiences for the same product and designing for that tension. Track record of writing PRDs and decision documents that experts can act on without follow-up. Comfort defining, defending, and changing course on success metrics. Experience working alongside subject-matter experts (legal, compliance, clinical) where correctness is critical. Strong collaboration with engineering, design, and data science in agile environments, including AI-assisted or agentic experiences with clear human review. Preferred: HR technology, compliance technology, or regulatory product experience; API-delivered, embedded, or partner-distributed products; document generation, policy/content management, learning management, or workflow products where correctness and version history matter; familiarity with multi-jurisdiction HR requirements or demonstrated ability to get deep quickly. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
