Canopy is a fast-growing SaaS company building modern, user-friendly practice management software for accounting firms. The company aims to revolutionize the accounting space with a focus on delighting customers and solving real problems.
As Senior Product Manager, you will lead product strategy and execution across Canopy's product suite. You'll collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to champion the customer perspective, conduct unbiased user research daily, and make data-driven product decisions. You'll shape product vision and direction in partnership with product, design, and engineering leadership, while gathering feedback from diverse stakeholders including users, subject matter experts, sales, support, and marketing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading cross-functional collaboration with design and engineering to foster constructive discussions and ensure high-quality implementation
- Conducting continuous market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and develop deep industry expertise
- Performing unbiased user research and analyzing product usage data to inform decisions
- Building product strategy and vision aligned with engineering, sales, customer success, and marketing
- Defining how AI is leveraged across the product suite, including architecting agent workflows and crafting prompts
- Shipping products with conviction—moving fast, rolling up sleeves, and avoiding analysis paralysis
- Contributing to Canopy's culture of customer delight, teamwork, and transparency
The role is hybrid in Draper, Utah with Monday, Wednesday, Friday in-office requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of product management or closely related experience
- Proven ability to conduct unbiased research and develop products people love, preferably consumer-facing
- Experience building product strategy and vision aligned cross-functionally with engineering, sales, CS, and marketing
- Builder mentality: shipped products end-to-end, understands zero-to-one execution, doesn't wait for perfect conditions
- Demonstrated AI fluency: thinks AI-first when approaching product problems, can lead confidently in AI-first environments
- Experience with third-party integrations and associated challenges
- Proven ability to lead through transparent communication and service-like influence
- Passion for analyzing product usage data
- Experience working in agile environments
- Experience with design-centered product development
- Technical expertise with microservice platforms
- Ability to perform onsite user research, including traveling out of state 2-3 times per year
- Strong interpersonal skills: sense of humor, empathy, confidence, and humility
BONUS:
- Experience in B2B fintech and/or accounting background
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field (preferred but not required)
- Experience supporting accounting professionals or strong understanding of accounting-focused practices
