Adyen is a global financial technology platform serving the world's largest businesses (Meta, Uber, H&M, Microsoft) with payments, data, and financial products. You will own the product vision and strategy for an AI assistant that works on merchants' behalf across the Adyen platform—one that can find and read their data, provide insights, take real actions, and understand its own limits.
Your core responsibilities:
• Set the multi-quarter vision and strategy for how merchants will run their business through an AI assistant that works alongside them
• Define what the AI assistant can do on a merchant's behalf—what it should handle autonomously, what requires confirmation, and what it should never touch
• Ship capabilities from idea to production, driving measurable outcomes for customers and Adyen
• Establish quality and safety standards for merchant-facing agentic capabilities that teams can measure themselves against
• Enable product teams across Adyen's domains to contribute capabilities to a shared foundation, guiding how they integrate
• Galvanize cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering, analytics, commercial, marketing, legal) to move with velocity
• Conduct deep customer research and data analysis to pressure-test strategic choices and ensure the team builds solutions customers genuinely use and value
The role sits at the intersection of AI product innovation and fintech complexity. You'll be building on top of systems that are regulated, high-stakes, and unforgiving of error—but your job is to deliver simplicity and clarity to merchants operating some of the world's largest payment operations.
Adyen is office-first; this role requires in-office presence in San Francisco at least 3 days per week on average.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of experience building customer-facing products in high-growth tech or fintech environments
• Hands-on experience shipping AI-native product experiences to real users (LLM-powered, agentic, conversational, or workflow automation); strong intuition for what "great" looks like in this emerging design space
• Proven track record of building and scaling customer-facing products with material business impact; ability to articulate what you personally owned and your thinking
• Demonstrated strategic thinking: translating customer needs and commercial priorities into multi-quarter product strategies
• Proven ability to drive complex programs spanning multiple teams and ship with velocity
• Comfort with open-ended, undefined business problems; ability to turn them into clear strategy, sequenced roadmaps, and high-velocity execution
• Analytical rigor: setting clear metrics, using data to align on priorities, measure impact, and reset course
• Cross-organizational leadership: driving adoption of shared capabilities across teams with their own roadmaps and priorities in a high-autonomy, bottom-up culture
• Experience shipping clear, simple experiences on top of genuinely complicated systems (regulated, high-stakes, unforgiving of error)
• Customer obsession: passion for understanding payment operations, finance, support teams, and more at large enterprises; understanding what they need to excel
