Oura is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Movement team. The company's mission is to empower people to own their inner potential through award-winning wearable technology (the Oura Ring) and its connected app, helping millions of members understand their sleep, readiness, activity, and overall health.
In this role, you will design mobile experiences that help members move with more awareness, motivation, and confidence—from understanding daily activity to engaging with workouts, live metrics, and post-activity insights. You'll own design for meaningful product areas from early exploration through launch, working closely with Product, Engineering, Science, Research, and fellow designers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design end-to-end experiences for the Oura mobile app, focusing on Movement experiences and advanced hardware technologies, from problem definition through prototyping, refinement, and launch
- Translate complex biometric data and product science into clear, pixel-perfect, and intuitive experiences that help members understand their bodies and take action
- Move fluidly between Figma and AI prototyping tools, testing concepts against real data to validate and refine designs quickly
- Contribute to new features and improve existing Movement experiences using research and data to iterate
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Science teams to understand member needs and inform design decisions
- Collaborate with fellow designers to keep Movement experiences cohesive with the broader Oura app and maintain high craft standards
- Participate in design culture through critique, feedback, and knowledge sharing
This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role based out of the San Francisco office on a hybrid arrangement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years designing digital products, with significant experience in consumer-facing mobile experiences
- Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, interaction, and product thinking with end-to-end ownership of shipped work
- Fluency in Figma and AI-assisted prototyping tools, with judgment to test and validate ideas against real data
- Ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable user experiences
- Track record of using research, usability testing, and analytics to inform design decisions
- Strong command of mobile design patterns and when to break them
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to explain decisions and work effectively across disciplines and distributed teams
- Experience with wearables, sensors, connected devices, or other data-rich health/fitness products
Nice to have:
- Experience designing for movement, workouts, activity tracking, or behavior change
- Experience with motion design and interaction details that make data-rich experiences feel intuitive and motivating
- Curiosity about emerging technology, sensing capabilities, and how they create more useful health experiences
- Interest in the relationship between movement, recovery, readiness, and long-term health
