Salary: CAD 118,000 - 162,000 / annual

Okta is seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the user experience design for Okta Privileged Access, a fast-moving product that provides unified access and governance for privileged resources (servers, service accounts, and secrets) across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on designing for IT and security admins, infrastructure engineers, and developers who need secure access to production systems. You will drive and execute an ambitious product design strategy for your team, ensuring meaningful impact on both user experience and business outcomes. Your responsibilities include: • Develop a systems-thinking approach that connects user insights with business goals to create experiences that keep millions of customers safe • Lead cross-functional collaboration with user research, UX writing, product management, engineering, marketing, and data science teams • Design end-to-end flows spanning multiple personas (IT Admin, Security Admin, End-user) and complex use cases across the Okta portfolio • Create scalable, usable design patterns that enhance efficiency and consistency across the product • Present work, concepts, and ideas to cross-functional teams and senior leadership to drive alignment and influence key product decisions • Advocate for thoughtful use of AI in brainstorming, iterating on solutions, prototyping, and team collaboration • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for technical accuracy, design system adherence, and usability You will balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail, keeping user goals at the heart of solutions while also considering business objectives and engineering constraints. You thrive in ambiguous environments, build empathy with users, and see design as a strategic partner with product and engineering in shaping outcomes. REQUIREMENTS: • Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer • 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools • At least basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript • Digital portfolio demonstrating depth across multiple projects, including shipped work used in real products (portfolio link required) • Experience incorporating AI into design process, including crafting tools, iterating collaboratively with AI, and documenting prompts for scaled use • Portfolio showing work on complex technical projects across all aspects of design (research, discovery, interaction design, information architecture, visual design)
