As Senior Product Designer II on the Jobs team, you will own the end-to-end design of Handshake's core job discovery and application experience—the surface millions of students rely on to find and land opportunities. This includes job search, job details pages, application flows, and post-application status tracking. You'll also contribute to the Home experience, ensuring students see relevant content that sets them up for job search success.
The Jobs team is one of the most heavily used, highest-stakes surfaces on the platform. You'll partner closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and content specialists to solve problems and ship polished experiences. Your work will focus on making job discovery faster, applications easier, and the post-application process clearer and less anxiety-inducing—transforming what students often find opaque and stressful into something transparent and within their control.
Key responsibilities include: designing complex, multi-step flows where completion and drop-off metrics matter; translating user research, behavioral data, and qualitative feedback into design decisions; rapidly iterating through wireframes, prototypes, and experiments; collaborating with a Staff Designer and design leadership to align with broader strategy; and bringing strong craft to every surface—visual design, interaction design, and attention to detail that builds trust.
You'll work with generative AI tools to accelerate ideation and prototyping, and you'll be deeply motivated by Handshake's mission to help students build meaningful careers in the AI economy. The role requires 5+ years of product design experience building consumer-facing products at scale, strong communication skills, solid visual and interaction design chops, and comfort using qualitative and quantitative insights to validate decisions. Bonus experience includes search/discovery/marketplace design, application funnel optimization, career services familiarity, and personalized home/landing surface design.
