Acorns is building a new Community product team from scratch and seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead design for a social engagement product that drives organic growth and habit formation around saving and investing. You'll be the design voice for a product built to make saving as compelling as the best social and gaming apps. Working directly with the CEO, a Senior Product Manager, and senior engineering team, you'll design engagement loops, social sharing mechanics, and habit-forming experiences that reach millions of users, many investing for the first time. Key responsibilities include: - Designing engagement loops, sharing moments, and habit-forming mechanics that drive organic growth - Setting the quality bar for the Community product, including micro-interactions, feel, and delight - Creating experiences that bring Acorns' core mission to life—trustworthy, natural, and accessible for diverse audiences new to investing - Moving fast, shipping quickly, and learning by building - Operating with agility across engineering and product to ensure design intent survives to production You've likely designed engagement or retention features at social, gaming, or high-growth consumer apps (streaks, sharing flows, social proof, habit loops) with measurable outcomes. You own the full design process end-to-end: discovery, concept, high-fidelity design, and shipped product. You translate ambiguous briefs into sharp, opinionated product directions, sweat the smallest details, and push back when implementation falls short. You've worked on small, cross-functional teams with high ownership and low process overhead, and built or contributed to design systems that scaled. Acorns is a financial wellness app founded in 2014 that has grown into a global company with multiple life-stage products. Named one of Time's "World's Best Brands of 2024," Acorns has helped over 14 million people save and invest over $25 billion, much of it from spare change and small amounts.
