Opto is building an end-to-end platform to modernize private markets investing. The company serves wealth managers, family offices, and private banks, replacing manual processes (spreadsheets, slide decks, paperwork) with technology-driven solutions. The global alternative investments industry is forecast to reach $30T by 2029, yet the investment process remains opaque and error-prone.
As Senior Product Designer, you will own design for a major product surface area end-to-end—from strategy through execution and outcomes. You'll work closely with product and engineering to define what gets built and how, with a focus on simplicity, clarity, and quality. This role exists to elevate design from execution-only to strategic decision-making, ensuring design perspectives shape roadmap and prioritization from the start.
Your responsibilities include: owning a major product surface end-to-end (strategy, execution, outcomes); bringing design into strategic and product decisions early; shipping design hands-on from concept through implementation details; partnering with product and engineering to validate workflows and quality; contributing scalable design patterns and components; shaping design in an AI-native product; using qualitative and quantitative signals to inform decisions; and pushing for simplicity and coherence across end-to-end experiences.
Success means identifying high-leverage design problems, making core workflows coherent and intuitive, grounding design decisions in evidence, simplifying or removing unnecessary elements, and earning early trust from product and engineering.
You bring 6–10+ years of product design experience, including designing products or major features from scratch. You have strong product sense, a high quality bar, and can articulate the "how" behind design decisions. You've owned significant scope independently without needing a manager to hand you specs. You think in systems, build scalable patterns, and care about outcomes and measurement. You may have mentored other designers, but this is an individual contributor role, not people management.
