NMI is a global leader in payment technologies that enables software and sales professionals to deliver payment innovations without building payment expertise in-house. The company powers payment solutions for SMBs, entrepreneurs, and fintech startups across the full spectrum of commerce.
As Senior Product Designer, you will lead end-to-end design efforts for NMI's complex B2B payments products and features. Your responsibilities include designing intuitive experiences for technical workflows, conducting user research and usability testing with partners and merchants, and building scalable design systems. You'll work on both greenfield initiatives (new experiences from scratch) and redesign efforts on existing Payment Gateway products.
Key responsibilities:
- Create comprehensive design deliverables: journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance user needs and business outcomes
- Plan and conduct user research, including internal testing and external validation with partners to inform continuous improvements
- Build and maintain design systems ensuring consistency and scalability across products
- Benchmark designs against competitors and identify improvement opportunities
- Leverage AI tools (v0, Cursor, Figma AI) as core workflow components to accelerate prototyping and explore design variations
- Support adjacent initiatives including customer engagement materials and special projects
You'll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify opportunities and translate user insights into scalable solutions. This role suits designers who thrive in ambiguity, bring strategic thinking to product challenges, and want to grow their influence in a dynamic environment.
Required qualifications: 4+ years designing B2B digital products with a strong portfolio; familiarity with financial products, APIs, or transaction systems (payment gateways preferred); proven cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; proficiency in Figma and design systems; working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards; hands-on experience with AI tools for design/prototyping/research (required skill); demonstrated user research and usability testing experience.
