Medallion is a leading provider operations platform that automates licensing, credentialing, payer enrollment, and compliance monitoring for healthcare organizations. The company has raised $130M from top-tier investors including Sequoia Capital, Google Ventures, and Optum Ventures, and is ranked among the fastest-growing healthcare tech companies.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will own high-impact, ambiguous problem spaces within the product and drive work from discovery through production. You'll be a product partner and system thinker, responsible for the quality that reaches production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Customer Success, and Sales to clarify customer problems, business goals, user workflows, technical constraints, and success metrics before designing solutions.
- Design end-to-end workflows for healthcare operations, including intake, routing, task management, provider actions, admin review, exception handling, and decision support.
- Create experiences that help users understand automation and AI capabilities—what the system did, why it happened, what needs review, and what action to take next.
- Own quality through production by staying close to Engineering during build and QA to ensure the shipped product matches the intended experience across all states, edge cases, permissions, errors, and interaction details.
- Contribute reusable product patterns for common workflow needs like queues, task lists, status tracking, bulk actions, review flows, alerts, audit trails, and data confidence indicators.
- Use clear artifacts, prototypes, tradeoff framing, and direct communication to align stakeholders, make decisions, and keep high-impact work moving.
You'll design for users managing high-volume operational work, providers completing critical tasks, and customers who need confidence in accurate, reliable outcomes. A central focus is designing workflows that increasingly rely on automation and AI, making these capabilities legible, trustworthy, and effective in real operational contexts.
The role reports to the Head of Design. You should be curious and self-directed, asking why and learning the system without waiting for perfect inputs. Craft-mindedness is essential—you believe quality, clarity, and interaction details are how customers build trust in the product.
