Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America by combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing for aerospace and defense companies. The company helps customers build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. Following a $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding its manufacturing footprint and scaling its Factory-as-a-Service platform.
As one of Hadrian's first product designers, you will work with key internal customers across engineering and factory operations to design an AI-powered operating system for the factory—an integrated platform for how the company engineers and builds critical parts for aerospace and defense.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with key internal customers across engineering and factory operations to learn their workflows firsthand
- Design the tools and automations at the core of Hadrian's AI-powered factory operating system
- Map how work moves across teams and functions, designing end-to-end experiences that connect work across the organization
- Define problems, design in Figma, and ship working versions in code using coding agents such as Claude Code
- Work with engineers to take your designs to production and measure how they change factory operations
You will report to the Product Design Lead and work from the Los Angeles office.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated record of solving complex customer problems: you can show the customer, the problem, and the measured result
- Shipped features and products that customers adopted and that moved the business
- Experience shipping high-stakes features at scale
- Systems thinking: ability to design for whole workflows across teams and functions
- Senior or staff-level product design experience, equivalent to Meta IC5 to IC6, with high taste and craft in Figma and in code
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR compliance)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience designing software for industrial, operational, or high-precision work where the product runs something physical
- Experience designing AI-powered products or agent-driven workflows that people rely on daily
- Ability to prototype in production code and ship it
- Passion for reindustrializing American manufacturing and shaping how the country builds rockets, satellites, jets, and ships
- Note: A manufacturing background is not required
