Anthropic is seeking a Senior Product Designer for Growth to own how Claude grows with everyday users. You'll drive adoption from first session through company-wide rollout by diagnosing what creates habitual use and what blocks it, then leading foundational product changes to remove those barriers.
You'll work on a small design team across all Anthropic products, tackling problems without established playbooks as capabilities evolve rapidly. Your focus is on making the product itself better through meaningful redesigns rather than incremental optimizations, with priorities shifting based on what most limits growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own growth end-to-end as your full-time focus, diagnosing what drives deep, habitual use of Claude
- Combine data, research, and hands-on product exploration to identify real bottlenecks
- Set an opinionated vision for the growth area and translate it into a roadmap with PM, engineering, and data science partners
- Redesign core product experiences—from onboarding and first-run flows to everyday workflows
- Shape and judge experiments with nuanced understanding of how Anthropic wins, not just topline metrics
- Deliver exceptionally crafted interactions and raise the quality bar for your area
- Drive alignment across partner teams connecting individual use to team and company adoption
- Mentor other designers and frame problems clearly for ownership by others
- Prototype and test ideas quickly using Claude Code and other AI tools
You thrive in ambiguity, combining sharp diagnostic judgment with exceptional craft. You form clear points of view from messy signals, prototype quickly to validate, and drive cross-team alignment to ship.
Minimum qualifications:
- Portfolio of shipped product design work demonstrating product vision and high craft
- Experience owning growth for a major product area end-to-end, including problem diagnosis and direction-setting
- Deep growth design experience in activation, onboarding, retention, engagement, or expansion on a product at meaningful scale
- Hands-on experience designing, launching, and interpreting experiments to inform product decisions
- Fluency with product analytics (funnels, retention, engagement)
- Proficiency with design, prototyping, and AI tools (Figma, Claude Code) and habit of learning new tools
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with experience driving alignment across product, engineering, and data science
Preferred qualifications include: leading growth strategy across multiple teams or product areas; designing enterprise/B2B SaaS, productivity, or collaboration tools; product-led growth experience from single user to company-wide rollout; mentoring designers or shaping design practice; SQL or similar data querying; front-end prototyping (HTML/CSS/JS); defining AI-powered workflows; clear perspective on when products should request attention versus stay out of the way; passion for building safe, beneficial AI.
