April is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Build team and lead design across a multi-platform product suite serving consumers, B2B2C clients, and internal business tools. The role focuses on creating human-centric tax experiences that reimagine how people interact with tax planning and filing.
Key responsibilities include owning the entire design thinking process for significant product areas, conducting user research to inform decisions, and ensuring pixel-perfect execution across all design phases. You will work directly with the Head of Product Design and cross-functional leads (Product, Engineering, Tax Analysts) to prioritize initiatives and solve meaningful problems. The role also involves contributing to the growth of the design function by building and communicating best practices, partnering with marketing to align solutions with brand voice, and measuring impact against business-level OKRs.
Required qualifications include 6+ years of digital product design experience, strong expertise in interaction and visual design, and proficiency in Figma. You must demonstrate a high bar for design quality, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to apply research and metrics to inform decisions. The ideal candidate is comfortable with iterative design processes, can inspire end-to-end improvements, thinks strategically about business objectives, and communicates design thinking confidently to senior stakeholders including founders.
The position is fully remote for US-based candidates. Team members in the New York City metropolitan area are expected to maintain a minimum on-site presence of three days per week. April is an embedded, year-round tax platform that delivers real-time tax intelligence through white-labeled tools and an AI-powered tax engine, helping users and partners make smarter financial decisions.
