Allara is a comprehensive women's health platform serving over 60,000 patients nationwide, specializing in longitudinal care for hormonal, metabolic, and reproductive health across life stages including PCOS, insulin resistance, and perimenopause. The company is one of the fastest-growing women's health platforms in the U.S., bridging gaps in healthcare access through multidisciplinary care teams.
You will own end-to-end design for the core patient experience across web and mobile platforms, reporting directly to the VP of Product. This is a hands-on senior IC role focused on design craft and strategy rather than people management.
Key responsibilities include: establishing design vision and strategy for the patient platform; applying and evolving the design system as it matures; partnering daily with product and engineering to ship high-quality design; conducting user research including interviews, usability testing, and behavioral analysis; and collaborating with the founding designer to maintain cohesive product experience across surfaces.
You'll drive design velocity that keeps pace with engineering growth, reduce key-person risk by adding dedicated design capacity, deliver high-craft research-informed design, and help establish a stronger foundation as the design team scales into distinct domains.
Required: 5+ years of product design experience with demonstrated impact on UX and business outcomes; experience contributing to and working within design systems across multiple product surfaces; Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or equivalent professional experience; strong Figma proficiency; prototyping skills for user testing and stakeholder alignment; experience conducting user research; comfort using data and user feedback to inform decisions; strong cross-functional communication with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders; comfort with ambiguity in a fast-moving, early-stage environment. Mentoring junior designers is a plus but not required.
The role is hybrid with 3 days per week in the NYC office, offering flexibility as needed. This is an opportunity to make direct, hands-on impact on patient health outcomes through thoughtful, user-centered design while growing alongside a scaling design team.
