Babylist is seeking a Senior Product Designer to own the user experience and interaction quality for the next generation of their platform. You will be the primary owner of how the product feels and functions, responsible for designing experiences across web and native mobile that help parents discover products, receive gifts, and navigate early parenthood.
The role blends traditional product design with hands-on research, prototyping, and front-end development. You'll work alongside product managers, engineers, and data partners, but you drive the experience layer and set the bar for intuitive, beautiful, and emotionally resonant interactions. You'll run user research, build working prototypes in hours rather than days, and contribute production-quality front-end code to ensure polish is never compromised.
Key responsibilities include owning experience design end-to-end across customer journeys and product surfaces, designing and building experiences that drive measurable outcomes, defining excellence and setting quality standards for the team, and staying deeply connected to users through research and feedback loops. You'll help Babylist transition into AI-native product development by modeling what an AI-native designer does daily.
You're a craft-obsessed systems thinker who cares deeply about transitions, motion, and details that create emotional resonance. You have a portfolio of shipped consumer product work across web and native mobile. You're human-and-data-centered, running both generative and evaluative research, and you bring concrete evidence into design decisions. You're product-savvy, understanding what's worth building and what will resonate with users while supporting business goals.
You're a real builder who moves from rough concepts to interactive prototypes quickly and writes production frontend code yourself. You instrument your own work, track metrics, and make iterate/pivot/stop decisions based on evidence. You naturally reach for AI in your work and stay curious about emerging technologies. You're adaptable, low-ego, and jump in across team boundaries without waiting for permission.
