Salary: USD 189,000 - 236,200 / annual
Mercury is a fintech platform providing banking, treasury, and financial workflow solutions for startups and technology companies. The company is reimagining how businesses handle accounting by integrating it seamlessly into their existing workflows, moving away from disconnected tools like spreadsheets and separate accounting software.
You will lead the design vision for Mercury's Accounting Integrations experience, owning the product from early strategy through execution. Your core mission is to translate complex accounting workflows into intuitive, simple product experiences that feel natural to users. You'll work on one of Mercury's most strategically important product areas, shaping how customers prepare and complete accounting work through thoughtful automation and new interaction models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end design for the Accounting Integrations experience, from conception to polished delivery
- Reimagining customer workflows through automation and innovative interaction patterns
- Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research teams to explore, experiment, and define product strategy
- Defining shared interaction patterns and visual language across Mercury's accounting ecosystem
- Raising the quality bar for accounting experiences through exceptional craft and design leadership
You should have 6+ years of experience leading complex, end-to-end product design initiatives. You think in systems and workflows rather than individual screens, and you obsessively learn new domains until you can challenge domain experts. You excel at bringing clarity to ambiguous problems, turning highly complex workflows into simple experiences, and balancing automation with transparency and user control. You bring strong product judgment, clear communication, and high ownership. You're comfortable using AI to accelerate exploration without compromising craft.
